Yeah, it kinda is, huh? That's why I usually just let the maids handle the wash...

I'll go ahead and put these whites in some water. Then start mopping up. Think you can handle the others?

[nozomiracle]

Okay...

[Trying... not screwing up yet...]

[Asbel runs some water in a nearby sink for the whites, scanning the shelves until he finds the solution he's looking for (it probably isn't called "bleach" on Ephinea, but surely this bottle that says something about "whiten your clothes like magic!" can't be all that different, right?) Yeah, he'll use that.]

[Leaving those to sit for a while, Asbel sets to work on the sudsy floor - give him enough time and it'll be shining like crazy.]

Yeah, me too. And I think some of it might! [He offers her an encouraging smile.]

Do you have more clothes back at your place? I mean, it'd be pretty bad if they got ruined and you had to buy all new outfits.

Yeah, but I put off the laundry for a long time.

So a lot of it got washed today, huh? Is this the first time that machine's acted up on you? Maybe it needs to be looked at.

[He wrings out the mop and goes over the floor once more without dunking it to try and reduce the chances of one of them slipping.]

[nozomiracle]

I dunno, I haven't really tried laundry before.

[windegarde]

You mean this is your very first time using these machines or washing your clothes out or-- anything?

[He thought she'd done this before.]

[nozomiracle]

I thought it would be easy.

[windegarde]

[Asbel rubs the back of his head. Sure, he's shrunk down a few shirts before, but aside from that, it mostly is easy...]

It'll be all right. Everyone makes a few mistakes their first time. [He goes to dump out the dirty water.] By the way, I'm Asbel Lhant. I kind of just moved in a little while ago.

I'm Yumehara Nozomi! I'm not really used to being on my own, either.

So...Yumehara then, right?

[Asbel returns to check on the clothes he's let soak in the bleach solution for a while. They definitely look a bit whiter, but the discoloration from before doesn't seem to be going away all that much. Hmm...]

Huh. That's no good. Maybe I didn't put enough in.

[He adds some more bleach because that seems like a great idea.] Were you living with your family before you moved here?

[nozomiracle]

Yeah! I've never been good at this kind of stuff, either. What about you?

Well, at the Knight Academy we always rotate through chores. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, that kind of thing. Major Victoria says it teaches discipline, but I've never been very good at it.

Cleaning's all right, but kitchen duty? [He laughs at himself a little.] I guess I can make a sandwich okay.
