The Space-Time Crystal Meme.

(Only extremely loosely based off [ real world physics. ] This meme is a bunch of hooey for entertainment purposes and should not be mistaken as "scientific".)
What's a space-time crystal? These 4-dimensional "objects" are said to keep time perfectly. Forever. Even as the universe meets its untimely and simultaneously dramatic, soap-operatic and highly prolonged death. Think about it. A perfect timepiece which perfectly keeps time even as time (a relative subject to begin with) ceases to matter.

More than that, there's a small quantity of space-time crystals even more advanced than the rest. These specimens, because they interact with a numblingly vast quantity of particles scattered throughout the Whole Sort of General Mish Mash (WSOGMM), when activated, can perfectly recall any moment in time, anywhere in the universe, from any individual's point of view. Maybe an ant's view of a garden jungle as it returns from a scouting trip, maybe a politician as he prepares for and ultimately loses an election, maybe someone close to you living the same moment you've lived yourself. A single, perfectly remembered moment.

How you've found one hardly matters. Before you, glittering with its gently rotating ion rings is just such a crystal. Will you gaze into its depths, hand it off as a late birthday present to your lady friend, or simply walk away scratching your head? The choice is yours.

RULES:

1. Post with your character. (Duh!)
2. The person who replies will be responsible for supplying the memory your character witnesses. (Unless you really want to give the crystal away.)
3. Remember, this works much like a pensieve. Sort of. You can do whatever you like in the memory, but because it is only a record and not the real thing, anything you "change" will simply revert back to the way it was the moment you remember yourself.
4. As a note: the particles tend to have a sense of humor, so you may be able to interact with individuals inside the memory or view it alongside another person. (This is up to both players' discretion.)

Asch (Space-verse)

[Obligatory first tag is obligatory.]

[Unfortunately for Asch, he's come to a point where no small detail can be overlooked. For this reason, and for this reason only, he finds himself examining what appears to be a particularly unusual looking space rock.]

[nozomiracle]

*pops up behind* Asch-san! I think I found vegetables and -- what're you looking at?

A rock.

[And because that just sounds stupid, he adds:] Something's moving inside it.

[nozomiracle]

Let me see, let me see! *Staaaaaaaare.*

[Asch rolls his eyes but holds the rock out so she can get a better look at it. The ion rings almost seem to be pulsing, and there is most definitely something moving around in there. It almost looks like]

[But before he can even finish the thought, there's a sharp pain in his skull, and a bright flash of light.]

[nozomiracle]

*Nozomi staaaaaares.* Wow, this is so cool! What's it doing?*

[Asch squints against the discomfort invading his senses. Just what was that...?]

...hn. My guess is it's reacting to something. For a minute it looked like there were people moving around inside. [He lifts his chin, the migraine having mostly subsided, and gestures vaguely ahead.]

Over there.

[nozomiracle]

*She looks forward.* Whoa! There really are people! And a big house, too! Hi, people in the rock~! Can you hear us?

*She really is that stupid.*

[Asch brings a palm up to his forehead. Even if she can hold her own in a fight, Nozomi's still amazingly brainless sometimes.]

Don't. These people aren't aware of how we got here. And I seriously doubt they actually live in the rock. It's probably some kind of space-time portal.

[That's when he notices and lowers his hand. The rock's vanished without him even realizing it. ...Damn.]

[nozomiracle]

*blinkblink* Eh? What happened?

We've been transported somewhere else. [Half-heartedly] ...Idiot.

[nozomiracle]

Like when we crashed onto the planet with the cute animals? Don't worry, if we find some here you don't have to go near them. Let's find out where we are! It's decided!

Do you want to do the setting/memory or do you want me to?

[Asch rolls his eyes, but decides it's best not to argue the point. It's not as if he cares whether they avoid any beasts or not.]

And how to get back to the ship, while you're at it. In case you haven't noticed, the rock vanished when we were pulled in.

[He glances around at the people, who're mostly (surprisingly) ignoring them, and the buildings. Hmm...]

I thought you were going to, sorry XD I'll do it.

[nozomiracle]

Don't worry, Asch-san, we'll get out! Just follow me! *She begins to walk forward through the tree-lined path, when she notices a few girls in purple dresses. Nozomi stops. Blinks. Realizes where she's going just as the unnamed background girls turn a corner.

Then GRABS Asch and starts running.*

Nope! But if you want to go swimming in Asch's messed up head later that's fine.

[[There'd be spoilers, though. But I think you know them already.]]

[He mutters something unintelligible, but follows along behind her after a last sweep of the area. Since she's determined to play follow-the-leader, he'll just stick back here and keep a watch for trouble.]

[Or he would have. Until]

[Asch lets out a grunt of protest as his arm is suddenly yanked forward at what can only be a mad sprint.]

Wh--!! Why the hell are we running?! [He hasn't seen anything unusual!] You're not going to starve to death if we walk!

[nozomiracle]

*Nozomi drags him towards the walls of a large brick complex with girls in the same outfit lining up in front of the gate. The sign is in French, but if it auto-translates, he should see something like "Five Lights Private School". Nozomi keeps running that way, not even watching for traffic.*

[Ssdwdnmsl!! Half the area is a blur as he's dragged (more-or-less literally) along behind her like an oversized ragdoll. There's just enough time to catch a glimpse of the sign - an academy? - before he hears the blare of a horn and very narrowly avoids colliding with the side of some wheeled vehicle. He's not even sure what it's called - he's never seen anything like it before. What did she even eat this morning?!]

Nozomi!! Dammit, woman, STOP!

[nozomiracle]

*Nozomi stumbles to a stop, leaving a dust cloud in her wake.* But Asch-san, it's my school! And it's not even a version of my world that just has cute animals and no people like the one we went to of your world!

[Huff puff huff pu--.] --Wait, you're saying this is your school?

[Why didn't you just say so in the first place!]

[nozomiracle]

It looks like it.

[Catching his breath, Asch draws himself up and takes a good look at the building.]

How sure are you?
