[open] Guess We're No Longer In Kansas
[Yukiko wasn't a stranger to unusual situations. She'd spent an entire school year fighting shadows inside the TV - not that people would believe her if she'd said that - and now she's stuck somewhere unfamiliar? This wouldn't do. Not at all.
When she said she wanted to leave Inaba after high school, this wasn't what she meant. She'd woken up in an unfamiliar bed (with a mattress and everything!), in a room that wasn't hers, and in a house that didn't resemble the Amagi Inn in the slightest. Most troubling was the text message on her phone: Welcome to Haven. Please don't panic.
Please don't panic? How was she NOT supposed to panic, with that kind of introduction? Her screaming had woken up one of the housekeepers, who'd given her a (bemused) run-down: she was Yukiko Amagi, of the nationally-famous Amagi Bed & Breakfast Inn, and if she didn't make it to her part-time job, she might get fired from it.
So she'd gotten herself dressed, and made her way towards downtown Haven. Haven, Washington. Figures that her first time in America, she'd be in this kind of situation. Maybe this was part of the TV world! Someone's sick, twisted memories coming to light? It had to be. Because she really, really wasn't willing to admit that she was living someone else's life.]
[ooc | Yukiko's post is set in the universe of Re-Fated, an AU game set in the town of Haven, Washington. The basic gist is that your character wakes up in Haven, having been told that they have switched bodies (and lives!) with identical residents in this town. Why they've been switched is really anyone's guess.]

gouto is gone — no hide nor hair of the cat on raidou's person. his outfit is strange, prim but still classy (or it would have been classy had he not fallen asleep at his (???) desk and wrinkled it in the process). they tell him he's a detective, one of haven's finest despite his often stoic demeanor and young age. if it weren't so familiar, it might have been reassuring. he could have set them straight and gone about righting the odd turn his life has suddenly taken. unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be an option.
dealing with the device is frustrating at best; raidou isn't sure what any of the buttons do and after a few ominous beeps, he finds the message. it's late, now. he's already been informed, but the "please don't panic" strikes him as smug and perhaps even a little presumptuous. panic isn't how raidou handles things, not really. it invites a mess, more than anything else. courtesy of his duties, he's more of the type to clean said messes up.
when he leaves the police station, he straightens his suit out of habit and informs those who seem to take interest in his presence that he'll return shortly and that he's just "stepping out", so to say. he should find gouto before he does anything else. he's without his katana and the many confinement tubes he had before arriving here. it's enough to set him on edge, truthfully.
the fact that he stops to stare at the display window of an electronics store, eyes flicking to each vivid television screen, is probably best attributed to his disorientation. but the fact that he lingers there, well. he's a bit mesmerized and utterly lost. ]

Hey, catch that!
[Exhibit B: A girl chasing that page down the street.]
Setting: Luministi! Thanks for your flexibility.
It's like what you'd find in a hotel. A welcome message as well. Hmm... [she turns the mug over in her hand, analyzing the design on it] But for the TV world, it's very...normal. I wonder...
[although ideas are already forming in her mind, she knows she needs more information before she can get a reasonable working hypothesis. to that end, she heads outside, taking a better look at the area--and especially looking out for any people who might be there. then again, if this is some bizarre version of the TV world, she wonders if there will be any]
